Single Mothers Programme

This charity and welfare project is headed by Sis. Norhafsah bte Hamid. RICOI has assisted single mothers and their children through financial and other means of assistance. The on-going programme is for single mothers who have been identified as needing assistance and guidance.

• Single Mothers programme at Jalan Jelatek, Kuala Lumpur.

The programme was focused on single mothers and their children from this area. Amongst assistance rendered to them were providing household provisions with the collaboration of Mydin Store and Giant Supermarket. The children were given new school uniforms, shoes, school bags and their school fees were paid under the programme. During the month of Ramadhan 'telekung', 'sarong' and the Holy Quran (B.M tafsir) were given to them. For Hari Raya Aidilfitri, 39 single mothers received RM200.00 worth of vouchers redeemable at Giant Supermarket.

• Rumah Kasih Harmoni, Paya Jaras, Selangor (Orphanage Centre)

Recently the programme expanded its charity activities to the Rumah Kasih Harmoni in Paya Jaras, Selangor. With the collaboration of Carrefour Supermarket, Tropicana City, 51 orphans were provided with new school uniforms, shoes and school bags. Their school fees too will be paid under the programme. It was noted that the children and the Centre need immediate assistance to provide basic facilities.

As an organisation that has committed itself to the dissemination of

information on Islam, it is our hope that the Tan Sri S. O. K. Ubaidulla

Memorial Lecture will be an annual event during which significant

personalities will be invited to deliver public lectures on contemporary

and pertinent issues aimed at educating, envisioning, energising and

empowering the Ummah to progressively migrate towards excellence as

aglobal citizen while fiercely retaining its integrity as Muslims.
